Oak Stone Brown

Traditional fuming gives our Oak Stone Brown timber flooring a light greyish-brown tone and enhances the natural patterns of the grain.

We can supply the recommended adhesive to ensure the floor performs at its best when installed over a heated substrate.

  • Grades

    Rustic / Classic / Prime
    Rustic

Large and frequent knots including large filled knots become a feature of the overall look. Rustic grade allows for a wide range of variation in colour and grain. This grade may contain:

    • Knots up to 80mm
    • Filled knots and other imperfections
    • Natural colour variation
    Classic

Classic grade allows a more pronounced variation in colour and grain. The floor contains frequent knots including filled knots. This grade may contain the following:

    • Knots up to 40 mm
    • Filling in a sympathetic style
    • Natural colour variation
    Prime

Prime grade has an even appearance with very few small knots. The natural variation is limited, though can be more visible on fumed oak. This grade may contain the following:

    • Knots up to 10 mm
    • Natural colour variation

Note the grading rules for extra wide boards are less stringent, meaning that 280mm and 310mm wide boards in prime grade can contain knots up to 20mm in diameter.

Very wide boards (260mm and 300mm) are only available in classic and rustic grade. Rustic grade boards do not contain sapwood.

  • Bevelled Edge

Boards up to 245mm width are produced with a tiny micro bevel (0.5mm). Wider boards are produced with a V-bevel on the long side and a micro bevel on the board ends.

  • Texture

    Brushed
    Brushed

Wire brushing removes the soft parts of the grain and gives the floor a subtle textured feel.

  • Construction

3-layer construction: The softwood core is produced from spruce with standing growth rings. The grain direction of the middle layer runs perpendicular to the top and bottom layers. The bottom layer is produced from spruce.
